Hanging over Scout's crib is this print. I bought it the moment I realized I was having a girl and I still love it. (Aside, while I was grabbing that link I found this necklace and I need to buy it.) The artist released a fabric line a couple of years ago. For Scout's birthday, I wanted to make her a dress. I had to scour etsy for yardage, but am so happy I did.
The top is a random pink-on-pink polka dots. The pattern is the Geranium Dress from Made By Rae. I've made 3 dresses with this pattern and it's really well written and easy enough for an adventurous beginner. The pattern has lots of options for customizing (gathered skirt, pleated skirt, top or dress, cut out on neck or plain neck, etc.) And to Scout's delight, it has pockets!! I highly recommend all the patterns on her blog. I have plans for a few more dresses in the next couple of weeks or months.
I jacked up that middle buttonhole, but I don't even care. The whole thing turned out pretty cute. We had to add leggings because the weather is erratic around here these days. It appeared to be a comfy dress. Halfway through the day we had to wash it due to a bloody nose, and it still looks pretty cute. And those pink polka dot shoes? They squeak.
