Once I finished the sweater, I used the leftover yarn (a new year's resolution to try to use up everything whenever possible) to make a little hat.
The pattern is the Aviator Hat. And it turned out even cuter than I anticipated. I think the sizing is right on for this, and new nephew should be able to wear it next winter. My only complaint with the pattern is that the under-chin strap is pretty much a no-go, I think. If I was going to knit it again, I would adjust that by either making it longer or leaving the chin strap off.
In a first, I had finished both the sweater, the hat, and the onesies with a week or more to spare. So I decided to knit a newborn hat as well.
The pattern is based on the blue and white striped hat that Scout wore in the hospital. Simple roll brim and stripes, but I don't use a pattern per se.
