'Lil Pun'kin

We headed to the apple orchard this weekend, but alas the orchard was empty.  There were seriously no apples to be picked.  I'm not sure if it was a bad crop or just a super busy season.  But we had fun anyway.

One of us was dressed for the occasion...

While it isn't quite Halloween, we had to wear the bib because we are still in the spitty, pukey stage.
There were, however, pumpkins to be picked.

The stroller proved useful for carrying the pumpkins up the big hill and for taking a cat nap.

Scout sported her new hat. I've knit a lot of pumpkin hats for gifts, but this is my favorite. I used the pattern from Itty Bitty Hats and Malibrigo Worsted yarn. It's soft and squishy, and just fits.

We did get some apples from the orchard's store along with cider, caramel apples and pastries, and the weather was warm.  Scout is still hanging on to a cold, so I may have to have a do over on the pumpkin patch to get some more pictures, because I'm mean like that.

So cute! I need to do another pumpkin hat, or two, or three! Too many cute babies around here.

I've heard that the new owners are picking all the apples themselves then selling in the shop of baking into turnovers, etc. Kind of takes the fun out of going to the orchard! Good to see they still have the pumpkin patch though.
