Mother's Day

It would have been pretty easy for Mother's Day to pass us by this year. I mean, it was a big one, my first, but we're still adjusting to our new life and doing it with some pretty crazy sleep patterns. But on Saturday, we planted our garden while Scout slept. And then on Sunday, we spent the afternoon at my sister's and at brunch with my sisters, nieces, and parents.

On Saturday night, I told Scout that there really was only one thing that I wanted for Mother's Day: one good 4 hour stretch of sleep. I mean, I wanted more, but I felt like 4 hours was a perfectly reasonable request for a nearly 3 week old. Apparently, she is an over achiever (of course she is!), and she gave me 5 and a half hours of uninterrupted sleep. Of course she didn't really go back to sleep after that, but it was a great gift nonetheless.

Here she is in her Mother's Day party dress relaxing after a nice meal.
