Today you are one month old. And what a month it has been. It's been, by far, the craziest, and I mean crazy in a good way, and fastest month of my life. Even though we had 9 months to get ready to bring you home, it's clear that we still have lots to learn. You're teaching us new lessons every day.
Your first month was filled with lots of firsts after your rather sudden, though late arrival:
- First time meeting all of your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins
- First outings to the mall, walks around the neighborhood, and some of our favorite restaurants
- First Easter brunch
- First Mother's Day
As cliche as it sounds, it's amazing how much you change everyday. We're still not sure who you look like. Some of your dad's family thinks you look like him, and some of my family thinks you look a little like me. You now weigh just over 8 pounds. You eat like a champ, you sleep pretty well at night - sometimes, but you fight naps hard. I'm pretty sure you get that from me, I hate to nap too.
We can't wait to see what each day brings, and we already can't remember what our life was like without you.
**The plan is to take a picture like this in a similar pose every month of her first year wearing the corresponding monthly sticker (purchased from Etsy if you are wondering). It's an idea that is all over the interwebs, so I'm stealing it as well, and hope that we can remember each month. I'm making a photobook of pregnancy and first days, and will do the same for her first year. At least that's the plan.
