40 weeks... sigh.

I didn't expect to be posting a 40 week post. I really thought we would have a baby by now. But there was no evidence to suggest that was likely. And I've been well aware that a "due date" is more like a "due month" in that babies can safely arrive anywhere within 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after and be considered "term". So here we are, and even though it's only a day late (so far), I feel like we're tapping our toes around here...

40 weeks

At my 40 week appointment this week, I learned that there's been no "progress." But upon seeing the disappointment in my face, my doctor quickly pointed out that it honestly didn't mean much and that it could still happen at any moment. She then said the words I was hoping I wouldn't hear, "See you next week." So appointments were made for the 41st week.

To add insult to injury, we woke up to this...

Luckily, the snow melted quickly. And the baby? Well, she'll come when she's good and ready. And if she doesn't, we'll start talking about induction mid-week. Not what I was hoping for, but ultimately, our only concern is coming out the other side with a healthy baby. So stay tuned...

You've been such a trooper through the whole pregnancy. It's hard waiting but at the same time the mystery of the miracle is enchanting. No hurry. She'll be here soon! Good job and thanks for sharing your journey. Love, Mom. Very weird that the verification word is laber

my little wilsons were all a week late and there is a huge plus side...late babies are cuter....all pink and filled out. and skip even rolled over while he was still in the hospital. late babies are not so *larval.* so, relax, and enjoy your last remaining days of sanity.

I know it is a waiting game - my little butterbean was the same way. I was scheduled for an induction for 8am 7 days after my due date, and she decided to make her appearance at midnight the day before! She'll come when she is ready and it will be amazing! Best of luck to you, R, and baby.
