Lucille Sweater

Knitting has been frusturating lately. I'm not sure why, but I blame it on the blue blanket from hell. When I picked it back up I realized that my stitch count was off, which is a problem. I really wasn't feeling up to the task of finding the mistake or in the alternative, finding a creative no-show solution. So it's been put in semi-permanent timeout. I'm honestly not sure if I'll ever pick it back up.

To make myself feel better, I picked up a new project. I had it in my mind that I wanted to knit a sweater for the baby. My hope was that the sweater would be newborn-ish size, and maybe she would be able to wear it right away.

The pattern is called Lucille, and I used Malabrigo Sock Yarn. It was an addictive little sweater, and I'm very happy with the result. Soft and light.

I compared the finished sweater to a newborn sweater that was a hand-me-down from my nieces, and it's probably closer to a 3 month size. But at least it won't be too small.

My only complaint with this pattern, and one that I could have fixed along the way had I thought about it, was the number and arrangement of the buttons. I think there's too many and they're too close together, but I'm still happy with the result.
