Garden progress.

I had some doubts about our tomato seedlings. But they recovered. And we didn't even need to use Brondo (it's got what plants need*).

As you can see they are ready for transfer.

Eggplant and Pepper Seedlings 050610

The peppers and eggplant seem a bit stunted, probably because our basement has been very cool.

Last weekend we went to the local nursery to pick up a few things, and I bought herbs. I don't usually like to press my luck on planting, but decided to put them in the ground anyway. And then of course, there was a frost risk this past weekend. Ack. Oh well. I will have to re-plant the basil from farmer's market plants. And hopefully it's the last of the frost worries until fall.

While we're still dreaming of most garden produce, we have been having salads every night. Luckily we have 5 different kinds of lettuce growing to add some variety. But if anyone has any unique ideas on how to eat lettuce, I'd be happy to take the advice.

Green smoothies! Here are a few recipes:
(wherever the recipe calls for kale/chard/spinach etc you can use whatever lettuce you've got instead). You can vary the fruits, too, as you like. Or make up your own recipe.

Looking good! We did not try to grow from seeds this year. We just simply ran out of time. I plan to take another stab at it next year though.
