Two Sweet Peas in a Pod.

>>I've been holding this post until I knew the hats were received...<<

Rykert's cousin is expecting twins in the next few months. I've only met Meagan a couple of times for very brief periods, but recently we've gotten to "know" a bit more about each other via Facebook and through her blog where she's been chronicling her pregnancy. Yet another piece of evidence for the power of the interwebs.

I'm well-known for untimely handmade gifts. Ask Rykert about the scarf he asked for one winter, which I started the next October as a Christmas gift, and then finished the following August. I've given plenty of half-knit gifts and IOUs. But with a number of friends expecting babies in the coming months, I decided that I should get a jump start. And frankly, there's really nothing more fun to knit than baby hats.

Her twins will be a boy and a girl, so I immediately decided to knit Susan Anderson's Sweet Pea hats in a newborn size.

Sweet Pea Hats 01

I never have a clue as to what size of hat to make, but since I got a jump start, I knit the smallest size so they could be worn (hopefully) in their first days or weeks. But if the hats are too small from the get-go, then I'll send a second round.
