Synchronize your Swatches.

I still have a lot of"stuff" at my parent's house. I've apparently always been a pack rat. For the most part, it's stuff I don't want to throw out or give away, but I don't know what to do with it. So it's stayed at my parent's. And though they only hint, I can tell they would prefer if I took it all home with me. There are prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding gifts, a very large box of Pez dispensers, lots of mint-in-the-box Barbies, photographs, a box of High School letters and awards (though the box of plastic trophies were recycled a year or so ago including my "Most Academic Cheerleader" trophy - which provided hours of amusement for Rykert), and books. Lots of books. I try to bring a little something home each visit. I really do.

When I was in high school, I had a problem. I was, apparently, addicted to Swatch watches.

Swatch Watches

I even have the original boxes for them, and sadly, this isn't all of them. I'm confident that there are a few more. I was even a member of the Swatch club. Remember the little protector things that went over the faces to prevent scratches? Sadly, I don't have any of those.

I still like them. Especially that striped one.

Despite the fact that I haven't worn a watch in the last decade, I'm considering replacing the batteries in these. And maybe, like the 80s fad, I'll wear multiple watches at once and bring it back. My sister even had a Swatch phone - both the top and the bottom could be used as a receiver. It was rad.

The problem with a micro-collection like this is that instead of getting rid of it, I start searching ebay and immediately want to start bidding on more. I don't even have a home phone anymore, and suddenly have a strong urge to bid on a Swatch Twinphone. I need help. Luckily, my ebay account is screwed up or I'm liable to start bidding on this.

I know you're jealous of my Olympic Swatch. Sorry, it's ALL MINE!

Do you remember the Coca-Cola rugbies? I remember I got a Coke shirt the same Christmas I got a red and white Swatch. My memory is foggy, but it's likely that my very coveted Swatch was a gift from your mom (in which case, thanks, Susie!)...

This collection represents my second round of Swatch addiction. The first round in the 80s when I was in elementary school consisted of a single lime green Swatch with a pink Swatch guard that I wore every day.

I really like the swiss cheese(?)one. Cool band. =)

I too have a box full of Pez dispensers in my parent's basement. And I still can't bring myself to part with the entire Snoopy collection still in it's original packaging. =/

I have the striped Swatch (the one that looks like a TV test pattern); it's called "Devotion". I'm a Swatch collector too, but 80s and early 90s Swatches only. I have 27 so far, along with guards and extra bands. Nice collection you got there.
