So this is what the 90s felt like.

I sometimes forget what life was like before the interwebs. What did I do with all my time?

We were hit by an ice storm yesterday, which left everything encased in a substantial layer of ice. Tree limbs, sidewalks, cars, decks. Everything. It's actually quite pretty albeit somewhat destructive and treacherous. The damgerous and treacherous nature hit home this morning as I nearly hit the ground in the parking lot at work, which I have taken to calling " a worker's comp claim waiting to happen".

Either as a casualty of the ice, or just as a mere coincidence, our home internet is out. I'm not sure what the problem is. We're starting to get the shakes and going through a bit of withdrawal. Whatever will we do if we can't read the rantings of our high school acquantainces or the play-by-play of life via Facebook? We forgot what our teens were like without the interwebs. Last night I needed an obscure piece of information, and almost wished I had a set of World Book Encyclopedias.

I know! This just about freaked me out last night. I kept fiddling with my two computers, the modem, and the router to get it to work. Finally, I realized the problem was not at my end and gave up.

But, darn it, I wanted to download my audiobook to my iPod via iTunes for crying out loud! How inconvenient! (I never knew iTunes didn't work (well) without a working internet connection.)

Are you doing anything special for the big game this weekend? Cooking anything special?
