Christmas.

Christmas time has arrived. And is speeding by. At least it seems that way to me.

O Christmas Tree 01

A blurry picture of our halls decked. When you have a room in your house that is basically without furniture because it's so oddly situated that you aren't sure how to arrange it, it's easy to put the tree up.

The presents are purchased (for the most part) and wrapped. The stockings are hung. We've watched the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Christmas special, Christmas Vacation, and It's a Wonderful Life. English Toffee has been made and consumed with more to come.

To celebrate the season, I give you a list of some of my favorite Christmas tunes which will unveil my dorky side and eclectic taste:
  1. Mary's Boy Child - Harry Belafonte
  2. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Johnny Mathis
  3. All I Want For Christmas is You - Olivia Olson (Love Actually)
  4. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love or U2
  5. I Saw Three Ships - Sting
  6. Santa Baby - Madonna
  7. Santa Clause is Coming to Town - Bruce Springsteen
  8. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Sarah McLachlan/ Barenaked Ladies
  9. 12 Days of Christmas - Straight No Chaser
  10. You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch
  11. O Holy Night - Neil Diamond or Josh Groban
  12. Last Christmas - Wham cover by the Glee cast (I can't help myself)
  13. The Christmas Song - Dave Matthews Band
  14. Happy Xmas (War is Over) - John Lennon
  15. River - (Joni Mitchell cover) Sarah McLachlan
  16. and... for Rykert: Christmas in Hollis - Run DMC

I'm going to stop there, but I could keep going. What are your favorite Christmas songs?

My favorite is Blue Christmas sung by Elvis. This year I'm listening to the Holiday Traditions station on XM a lot and really enjoying it.
