Last week, as I was browsing Ravelry projects. I got an inexplicable urge to make a tiny little tutu and an animal to match. A year or so ago, I knit my co-worker a monkey for her new baby. I had vowed to knit it again, but hadn't yet gotten around to it. It's a pretty fast little project, and I think it's super cute.

I followed the pattern - except - I knit the pieces all in the round to avoid seaming and changed the order up in an attempt to do the finishing as I went.

Once it was done, I freelanced a little pink wrap sweater. The tutu is just a ponytail holder with strips of tulle tied on. Could not have been simpler.

I think her face is a wee bit simple, and reflects my lack of abilities related to embroidery. But I think it's sweet nonetheless.

The details:
The Pattern: Monkey Moo (Ravelry Link)
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease (for the monkey); Bernat Softee Baby for the sweater
Needles: US 4

I'm already planning a whole army of stuffed toys in tutus. Next up, a hippo.
