Po-Boy Preservation Festival

Our Thanksgiving visit fortuitously overlapped with the New Orleans Poboy Preservation Festival. One, of the many, things I love about New Orleans is that they do love food. And another thing I love is that they do love any excuse to have a party.

The uninformed may wonder why the Po-Boy is in need of preservation. I think this article from the New York Times probably explains it the best. In short, it's Jared.

We had a great time. Ate. Listened to good music. Spent some time with Rykert's mom, step-dad, and brother. And then ate some more. And more.

For $2, I bought this.

And because everyone was doing it, we wore the hats. Of course.

And while we missed the French Bread Fight and the pummeling of a Jared look-a-like. But we did find ourselves in the middle of a Second line.

Hold up. The pummeling of a Jared lookalike? That may be one of the most awesome things I've ever heard of in my life, and I like to pretend that I'm a pretty nonviolent person...
