Putting the garden away.

With a hard freeze in the forecast, and snow on the way, it was time to mark the end of the growing season. So we went into the garden to pick everything that was edible just in case. I left a few tiny peppers that could still make it, but it's unlikely.

Despite all of of the picking, eating, and giving away, this is what was left down there:

Final Harvest 02

We are most enthused about those potatoes. They are small, but still.

Final Harvest Potatoes

They started their lives as an experiment.

Potatoes 042209

By mid summer they died completely yet there didn't appear to be any potatotes in the bins so we gave up hope. And then in August they came back to life. So yesterday, we dumped the bins into the garden and found these. Not exactly the most efficient yield, but enough that we will try again next year.

But in the meantime, what am I going to do with all of those peppers. Ideas?

Final Harvest Jalapenos

And now... IT'S SNOWING.
