Catch up.

This summer has felt really busy. But in reality, we haven't really done much, but it just seems like we haven't been home much either. Rykert's been gone the past few days at a waterski tournament in Florida. This has left me home alone to attempt to catch up on all sorts of projects. As usual, by Friday afternoon I had a mile long list of things that I would like to finish this weekend. It never seems like I have close to enough time to start and finish all the ideas in my head. And the next couple of months appear to be just as busy.

In an uncharacteristic burst of energy, I cleaned the entire house last night. I am really terrible at housework, so this was no small feat.

I've been focusing all of my knitting energy on finishing a few languishing projects. For starters three baby sweaters in various stages of completeness.

Baby Sweaters to finish 01

When I finish a project, if I don't know what else to knit, I start a baby sweater. It seems like I can always use an extra baby gift and I usually have a couple of balls of yarn on hand to use. Of course, I usually put the baby sweater aside out of boredom when I get to the sleeves in order to start something new. This means that I have been knitting lots of sleeves. I'll be happy when these are finished and I can start something fresh.

We are drowning in garden stuffs, and I'm still trying not to waste anything. Which means that I had to take these

and peel, chop, and freeze.

Peeling and Chopping Tomatoes

I'll take the chopped tomatoes to my dad who will (hopefully) use them to make salsa, which we will happily eat all year long. Tomorrows task will be finding a use for jalapenos.

The results are in at the Fair, and no blue ribbons for me. But there will be much more on this later...

For now, I'll leave you with the flowers I bought at the Farmer's Market this morning.
