It's summer in Iowa. Officially. Summers in Iowa are really beautiful. And honestly, it's why we endure the other part of the year (winter). When Rykert first moved up here I explained that the awful winter is forgotten so quickly when spring emerges and summer takes over. We have to forget about it, or we'd all move away.

We stopped on our way back from my parent's last weekend, and this was the view from the Rest Area. You can't see it in the picture, but there was a herd of deer in that field.

Iowa Summer Landscape

Like a Grant Wood painting.

So while I've been knitting, it's slowed down a bit. Instead, I'm pulling weeds, shopping at the Farmer's Market, wishing I wasn't so pasty and pale, and continuing to forget about winter.

And before I forget, Happy Father's Day to my dad!
