A question for you dog lovers.

Rykert and I both grew up with a golden retriever. We knew that they are high shedding dogs - the opposite of hypoallergenic, if you will. But then we started noticing something. Every product that is designed to eradicate, clean-up or control pet hair seems to have a picture of a golden retriever on it.

Fabric Sweeper

Hmmm. I think they are getting a bad rep. Of course, we've noticed this because we have purchased most of these products.

It's just a marketing ploy. Goldens are among the most popular breeds so putting them on the products is probably designed to get golden lovers like us to take a second look at them (and buy them). Plus, they do shed, and their hair is long so it's pretty noticeable.

Have you tried a FURminator? It works pretty well on my cat (Buddy's got really short fur so its not much help with him.) (Plus they use the ubiquitous golden to sell it, too! Bonus!) I think Leash on Life (on Highway 1 near Pauls) sells them.

Don't you love the Fabric Sweeper? Every morning I wake up to what looks like Brad Jr. all over our ottoman and my handy dandy Pledge Fabric Sweeper does the trick. They should take that barely hairy white cat off the package and put a 25 pound Maine Coon cat on it instead.

I love the fabric sweeper. Its amazing how much it picks up Yogi hair. As for the furminator, we have it, but haven't had much luck with it. Garrett's brother is a vet drug rep and swears by it, but hasn't helped with the Yogster.
