Cupcake Week: Cotton Candy Cupcakes

Today's cupcake is sweet and pretty, but far from complicated.

You'll need some cotton candy and small lollipop sticks. You can go to the carnival or circus to get your cotton candy, or you can buy yours at Wal Mart (I hate that place) like I did. I think it's an Easter special, so I'm not sure if they always have cotton candy, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Cotton Candy

Make a little topper by wrapping a small amount of cotton candy around the stick.

Frost a cupcake in a color that coordinates with your cotton candy. I also used a whole bunch of blue colored sugar. I imagine that's what the sugar looked like when they created the cotton candy.

Blue Sparkle Cupcake

Stick the cotton candy topper you just created into the cupcake. I think it's cute. And really sugary.

If you put yellow sugar on the cupcake, and green cotton candy on the stick, it would look like a palm tree on a deserted island. I'm envisioning a little hula girl or someone stranded with their 5 things.
