A room of my own.

When we bought our house, there were a couple of selling points: (1) a nice sized kitchen with a dishwasher for our cooking experiments, (2) a fenced-in yard to accommodate the dog we hoped to have, and (3) a small room in the basement to be claimed as a craft room. We, of course, had to make compromises in other areas, but these were the three big pluses.

So a few months after settling in, I painted the craft room, and moved in. I know I blogged about it at the time, but I don't think I ever showed you the finished pictures. But then I could never get a good picture, or it was a mess. Well, I finally realized that it would never be finished, so here it is... (click on the picture to see in on Flickr with notes)

Here's what you see when you walk in the door.

Craft Room

It's not done. I still need a crafting table (I have this Pottery Barn knockoff in mind). The light fixture still needs to be replaced, and there are a few other things to finish. But it's usable and it holds my stuff, and it gets messy all of the time. And I know the colors are not for everyone, but this room is literally hidden away in my basement - it's behind 2 doors.

It's nice to have all of this stuff around, and it can be inspiring. Except. Except when it is overwhelming. So much to do that I don't know where to start. With that in mind, I have something to give away. Tune in later this week for your chance... You knitters will like it. I promise.

I Love, love, love your craft room. I hope that someday I to may have a room such as this. I get tired of using the dining room table. Oh and thanks for sharing your blog.

Holy pink Libby!

Do you have a seed starting set up again this year too?

Yes, it is most definitely pink. Maybe not as bright as the pictures. I sometimes wish that I would have gone with a soft Tiffany-esque blue, but this was my one shot for a pink room. So I went big.

Yes, the seed starting op will be up and running with pictures to document soon.
