Essential Ingredients.

I've been on a cooking binge lately, much to Rykert's delight. Not that I'm cooking complicated meals every night, but I'm just putting more thought into the whole process. It will probably pass eventually, and I'll be back to knitting or painting or reading or something new entirely.

Through my blog travels, I started reading Gluten-Free Girl. And a week or so ago she reviewed The School of Essential Ingredients, and offered to send her copy to a commenter. My number came up, and she sent me the book. I started (and finished) it during a quick road trip to the Chicago 'burbs on Sunday.

The School of Essential Ingredients

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So much so that I read it in record time. The story centers around a cooking class attended by 8 distinct cindividuals who form disinct bonds as the book moves on. Each is introduced through each week's food lesson. And as I was introduced to each character, I was left wanting more. I was utterly disappointed to come to the end of the book. It's well-written with an easy style and beautiful language, and the author chose to tell the stories in an interesting way. And frankly, it fit in perfectly with my current cooking phase.

It's time to pass it on. If you are interested in reading it, please leave a comment. If there is more than one, I'll choose at random. To sweeten the pot, I'll also include a copy of The Preemie Project Cookbook (if you already have one, I'll find some other lagniappe). Deadline is Wednesday 4:30 p.m. Also please leave a way for me to get in touch with you. I only ask that you pass it on once you've finished reading.
