"It sucks as it cuts..."

Time for some gratuitous dog action. The problem with Golden Retrievers, which we were well aware of, is that they shed more than you think is humanly possible. It's hard to describe unless you've lived with a shedding animal, and if you have, you know what I mean. It's not something that we worry about too much, as annoying as it is, because the rewards more than make up for it.

But on occasion, we "Flowbee" the dog. Yes, that "Flowbee." But not really. We just use the hose on the vacuum to take care of some of the extra hair. "A refreshing vacuum haircut." (that's verbatim from their website).

I'm not sure how well it works, in reality, but Nola seems to enjoy it. Which is bizarre.

oh my gosh - we were just talking about this! my daughter thinks its hysterical to get her hair vacuumed (shes 2 and almost bald - lol) we laugh that we could cut her hair using a flowbee when its time - too funny!

Some animals love vacuuming, others will hide under the bed upon seeing the vacuum. A coworker has a CAT who loves to be vacuumed.

I have to hold Buddy while I vacuum because he barks at it.

Buddy doesn't need it, but on the cat I use a FURminator, which really does seem to work. After using it regularly she doesn't need it as often.

Boy, I would love to try that on our golden. I don't know if it would work or not though because he seems a little scared of the vacuum cleaner. We do use a furminator on him. For the cats we use a little bit of scotch tape to blot away extra hair. They like to be "taped".
