Halloween's Past v 4.0

Now we move into the more recent past. I've also helped my sister with a few costumes for my nieces over the years.

At 1.5 years old, they were chickens.

I think the idea came from an old Martha Stewart. And it's surprisingly easy. My only real contribution was to sew together onesies to create the stuffed undersuit and to sew the hats. My sister did the rest. Including dyeing tights. This is probably one of my favorite costumes ever. Essentially, it's cheap white feather boas tacked to a white bodysuit. Of course, to keep them in the costumes they were given suckers. This resulted in a tar and feathering effect by the end of the night. But they were certainly cute.

2.5 years old, I think, and they were 50s girls.

The poodle skirt has got to be one of the absolute easiest costumes to sew. Hands down. These had tulle and eyelet underskirts to give them some body.

4.5 years old, Star Wars. Padme and Leia.

Anna and Grace Halloween

These were probably a little too advanced for my limited sewing skills, but the "look" was right.

At 5.5 years old, it was the year of The Wizard of Oz.
Dorothy and Glinda 3

What I really wanted to do was to do a black and white (and grey) Dorothy and a technicolor Dorothy. The black and white Dorothy was a hard sell, so we had a Dorothy and a Glinda.

I guess I must have given you the year off when they were 3. I think they were store-bought Disney Princess of some kind that year:)
