My co-worker is currently off on maternity leave after adding another little girl to her family. We'll chip in on a group gift, but I like to knit a little something for all of the new babies in my office (there has been a constant stream).

With that in mind, I remembered this cute monkey via The Knitted Toy Box that I favorited on Ravelry some time ago.

So, I cast on Saturday, and had it finished by Monday night. Best of all this used all scraps of Cotton Ease left over from other projects.

I made a few edits to the original pattern. I knit in the round on double-points. I assembled and stuffed as I went. This made the finishing on the face much more doable, and finishing, itself, far less overwhelming.

Next time, I'll add magnets to the hands and feet. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea for a baby, but I think it would be very cute.

Cute! It seems like my list of babies to knit for is growing ever longer.

Very cute! We're a mature group in my office, so I rarely have babies to knit for; I'm a little envious because I really enjoy making toys and such.
