Two more.

So, last week I was having killer sinus pain where my head felt as though it would explode. After a week of pain, I broke down and went to see the doctor who prescribed an antibiotic. I debated between taking it and letting my body fight it off. I broke down and took the antibiotic. Flash forward to the day after Christmas where I wake up and find that I'm allergic to said class of antibiotics leaving my body radiating heat from a nasty rash. The heat has subsided thanks to another trip to the doctor and another prescription.

Despite this, I managed to finish up 2 more Christmas gifts a day late...

As you can see they were appreciated. It's a simple hat using Cascade 128 in three colors (one skein of each made 2 hats, 2 pompoms, with lots leftover). I made the pattern up as I went along for the decreases.

It's snowing again in Iowa today. We had planned to head back to Iowa City today, but for now we are waiting out the weather. We may head back late today or wait until tomorrow. Luckily, we don't have anything to get back to until Monday night when Rykert works again.

We're less than a week away from caucus night in Iowa. Unless you live here, you cannot understand how relieved many of us will be to see the politicians leave. Our mailboxes, voicemail, and airwaves have been inundated for months. I literally ran into Hillary Clinton in the ped mall in downtown Iowa City a few months ago - literally. I was eating ice cream and not paying attention when I noticed her unloading bags outside of a hotel. Rykert and I will definitely be caucusing, mostly because it is an interesting process.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Antibiotics are definitely a mixed blessing, aren't they?

The hats (and the girls) are adorable.

I almost hit Joe Biden with my messenger bag on the ped mall -- accidentally, of course, he was walking by when I was turning around after picking the bag up from a bench. I have to work caucus night, otherwise I'd be there too, though my district is almost exclusively students and most of them won't be here. I'm not sure what it would be like without them there, it's a pretty rowdy bunch. Right this minute I don't really care about the process, I just want AFSCME to stop calling me and knocking on my door. (Okay, I really do care, I'm just tired of it.)

Snow. Yeah. Still falling. Take your time.
