A season ahead of myself.

I've always liked to paint. When I was a kid, I would "paint" my grandparent's deck with a bucket of water and a paint brush. There is something very zen-like to watching things change color with a single stroke. I don't even mind painting walls (except for the prep work, nooks and crannies, and clean-up). So, I've always loved to paint things with big graphic images. I'm not really that good at it. I'm no fine art painter like my friend Jennifer. No, instead my skills are primitive, at best. But that doesn't stop me.

Behold, my latest 3-dimensional creations.

Snowmen (I'm working a season ahead). These were prototypes, just to see if I could get it put together. Everything you see there is handmade. Well, it started as a block of wood and 3 wooden balls. A little ingenuity, a power drill, and my brand new dremel tool created this. The hats were really quite tedious and fun to sew, and the scarves were the quickest knit ever. Let me know what you think... all constructive criticism is appreciated. Now that they are finished, I'm not sure what to do with them. I'll probably just give them away or place them on my mantel. Do people buy these types of things?

I'm considering re-opening my Etsy shop with some of the overflow of my creative energies. These aren't likely a candidate for that, because the arms make them fragile. But if I made the arms removable... then they could be put in place on arrival. I have one more Christmas-y project in my head before I get back to knitting. This one will probably be messy.

Great job, Libby! I really love the hats. I think they would sell well if the price is right.

Those are really cute! I especially like the painted trees on the blocks. I definitely think they would sell well.
