Progress on Ariann is stalled. I'm not much further than the picture below - save the second sleeve has been started and the increases have begun. I put it aside this week to work on two long neglected projects.

The Preemie Project is sponsoring a basket at an upcoming March of Dimes event. My contribution was to be a couple of baby hats.

Snowan Hat

Snowman Hat

Pattern: Snowman from Itty Bitty Hats
Yarn: Cotton Ease
I started this last winter without a recipient in mind, and then finished it for the basket. This is a seriously cute pattern. Though it is a little fussy in the finishing, the results are well worth the time it takes (in my opinion). I realize now, as I look at the pictures, that the eyes are kind of askew. But it's close enough and I've never seen a perfect snowman. Rykert wonders why we assume that a snowman would need a scarf.

A hawkeye hat. I'm in the process of knitting the Football hat (again) from ITty Bitty Hats for the basket. This shouldn't take too long.

Once I'm finished with the Hawkeye hat, I'll restart Ariann. I'm really anxious to get it complete because (1) it will be only the second wearable (knock on wood regarding the sizing) that I've made for myself and the weather is bound to cool down soon and (2) I already have my next project ready to go. I have my eyes on Juliet by ZephyrStyle. I really want to knit this and am having to use all of the self-control I have (which isn't much) to keep from casting on.

This weekend is the first home football game of the season for the University of Iowa. While Rykert and I have been known to crash a tailgate or to scout for last minute cheap tickets, I'll likely spend the weekend avoiding the chaos and debauchery while Rykert fights the crowds tomorrow night in an attempt to make it to work.

That is the cutest hat ever. I've been bypassing this book at the store and now I think I have to give it a chance.

Super cute!

My hubby and I were at the game on Saturday (season ticketholders). It was pretty much the perfect football Saturday. GO HAWKS! Football tends to interfere with my fall knitting.

That snowman did turn out really cute! It is definitely even cuter in person.
