A good cause.

Longtime (or even not so longtime) readers will know that I volunteer (as much as I can) for a local charity called The Preemie Project. I've been involved with the group since its inception, and have really enjoyed the people I have met and the friends I have made through the group. Not to mention the fact, that I really enjoy knitting baby items.

This summer, The Preemie Project published our first cookbook. I love cookbooks, cooking magazines, etc. In fact, I've been known to just sit and read a good cookbook even when I have no intention of cooking. I have a collection of local organization and church cookbooks that are filled with "tried and true" recipes that you can be certain will turn out and not send you on a wild goose chase to every grocery store in town searching for obscure ingredients. There are some really great recipes in here, but most importantly 100% of the profits go back to serving The Preemie Project's mission to help critically ill and premature babies and their families.

The Preemie Project collects donations of handknit, crocheted, and sewn blankets, booties, and hats. In addition, we are always looknig for donations of supplies such as soft fleece and flannel fabric and soft (non-wool) baby yarns. The supplies are provided to our volunteers who have the ability and desire to craft, but not always the access to supplies. Most importantly, The Preemie Project is always looking for more volunteers both local and national to assist in all of the group's projects. If you are not a crafter, there are other opportunities to assist the group.

So, if you like collaborative cookbooks and don't mind making a small donation to a great organization... please consider purchasing a cookbook through this link. If you are interested in volunteering, more information is available on the The Preemie Project website.
