Go Hawks!

This is the second hat for my donation discussed below.

Hawkeye Hat

This is the Football Hat from Itty Bitty Hats by Susan B. Anderson. I've knit this before, and the only changes that I made were to do an applique type thing for the "I" and to crochet a simple chain for the top. The "I" is just black fleece cut into an I, and then whip stitched into place. This somehow extends the life of the hat outside of football season, at least that was what I was thinking.

I picked up Itty Bitty Hats about a year ago, and have since knit nearly every hat in the book (only a couple left). I'm really excited that another book, Itty Bitty Nursery, by the author will be released soon. I think I'll have to go pre-order online right now. For those of you looking for more pictures of the cuteness that is Itty Bitty Hats, take a look at some of the posts from this knit-along.

Finishing this hat on Saturday night was timely, as a few miles from my house the Hawkeyes were exhibiting some gridiron domination. The other teams our household follows did not fare as well this week. There's always next week.

what an adorable hat! I purchased Itty Bitty Hats mostly because I've admired the hats you've made from it. I will have to try this one now in Bengals colors!

I have this book on your recommendation too and have greatly enjoyed it. Anxiously awaiting the next book. Great job on the football hat!
