Holy Parenthetical!

Please excuse me as I take a brief blogging break while I deal with my grumpiness. After a nice weekend at my parents (despite the oppressive heat of the weekend), I'm left today with the beginnings of a summer cold (sore throat) and exhaustion. Plus things are busy - and I'm lacking energy. On top of that, I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday related to my dizziness (which is still coming in waves occasionally) in which I will likely be subjected to a rather unpleasant series of tests. You know its going to be a good day when they tell you not to eat for at least 3 hours before coming (because an empty stomach is better when inducing vertigo) and no eye makeup (I think they want me to cry). I plan on arguing my case that the tests aren't necessary because I did them 10 years ago (and it was really fun, and yielded a diagnosis). Rykert thinks my argument is unlikely to sway the doctor (and his little posse of residents).

Regular (not that things have been that regular around here) blogging to continue by the weekend (hopefully). At that time, we will hopefully have more talk of puppy dogs, ripe tomatoes, and finished baby sweaters. Until then, thank you for your comments and suggestions on dog names. All have been read and re-read and considered. We think we have a name, but I won't be certain until I can try it out on her.

Talk doctors out of doing tests when you have insurance? Good luck with that. (Actually, you *can* just refuse, but you know that.) Best to find out, probably.

I'm sorry to hear about the cold -- I'm experiencing similar symptoms, which is probably one reason I've been out of sorts, too. I am coming to terms with the haircut, though -- the humidity is having its way with it and is turning out much wavier and thus is not causing so much despair.

Good luck with the tests and the cold!

I hope you find out what's causing the vertigo. Feel better soon.
