Who dat?*

First some exciting news...

Last night, Rykert and I were driving down 5th Street here in Coralville. I drive down this same street multiple times a day going to and from work. As we're driving, I notice spinning wheels in a store window. I make Rykert circle back around, and I discover that there is a new yarn shop opening just a block from our apartment. It will be right next to the coffee shop that Rykert and I frequent (it's in City Center Square on the corner of 5th Street and 12th Avenue for any locals who might be reading). It's a branch of Crazy Girl Yarn Shop. I visited their store in Muscatine this past summer, and loved it. I really can't wait until it opens next month. Seriously. This could be dangerous.

Now the knitting...

I've spent most of this week being knocked out by a nasty cold that Rykert brought home from the petri dish he calls work. It keeps hanging on but I'm hopeful that I've finally turned the corner. The thing about being sick is that all you want to do is sleep or sit on the couch. When the energy allowed, I managed to finish two more Itty Bitty Hats.

As you can see, my supply of Cotton Ease in a rainbow of colors continues to produce.

I'm spending the day waiting around for snow again. Either tonight or tomorrow we should be receiving more snow. I hear that Chicago is also expecting some snow, which should make for an interesting football game tomorrow. The good news about this weather is that the bald eagles have returned to Iowa City. During this time of year, you can always find bald eagles perched in the trees along the Iowa River. They are huge. Of course, I never have my camera with me to document their appearance, but I assure you they are here.

*For those not familiar with this phrase more information here. I'm a Saints fan by marriage. Rykert, by birth. He, like all Saints fans, has waited a long time for something to cheer about. This leaves us - 2 Saints fans in Da Bears country. Stay tuned.

Oooh, I love the hats! And congrats on the new yarn store, although having one that close could be a bad thing, too.

I miss seeing the eagles all of the time. I saw a lot of hawks when I was driving all across Iowa in December, but no eagles.

What amazing news! We need a yarn store badly (I refuse to shop in the one we have, she's been rude to me so many times). I can't wait!

Wow! New yarn store! That is exciting.

I think I am the only person in Iowa cheering for the Patriots. Go Pats! Tom Brady is my NFL boyfriend but like Kevin Garnett is my NBA boyfriend. Although Brady's performance was not enough in my fantasy league this year to win me a second championship.
