Who dat?

I know it's been pretty quiet around here. The new year has brought a surge at work, which has left me exhausted in the evenings in the past couple of weeks. I've knit a few rows here and there, but haven't really had much to show you.

Last night during the Saints game (when I wasn't distracted by Rykert's excited/ nervous pacing and yelling at a tv) I did manage to finish up two small projects.

The first is the Cherry O Hat from Itty Bitty Hats. I love this book and have been working my way through each pattern since I picked it up last summer. I started the hat this past summer/fall and had the hat completed. It was just waiting for the topping to be finished. Like all the hats in this book, I love the results.

Recipient: The Preemie Project

The cherries don't overpower the small size of the hat in person. Seriously. This is just sort of a weird angle.

My cousin asked me to make a hat for her sister-in-law who is expecting next month. They don't know the gender of the baby, so she asked me to do something unisex. Instead, I decided to make 2 options. The first is in case it is a girl... The Pink Poof.

Again, this came from Itty Bitty Hats. You knit a simple roll brim hat and then embelish with strips of tulle on the top. It's a bit over the top, but I love it. The boy version will be a simple roll brim hat with fleece trim on the top. The yarn is Cotton Ease, again, in Strawberry Cream.

If you like the Itty Bitty Hats book, check out some of the other patterns by the author at her online shop, Shop ABC Soup.

Let's see if I can get some other projects complete so I have more to post soon...
