Happy Anniversary to us!

wedding pic 2

Two years ago today, we were preparing to get married (this is the only picture I had uploaded so it will have to do). I had my hair done and even wore make-up for the occasion (I did not, however, wear panty hose or uncomfortable shoes). Despite the weather being a bit cold, it was a very nice day surrounded by family. I told the florist to make my bouquet small, and this is what I received - a monstrosity of sweet peas, roses, hydrangea, and stock. She did remember to not include any calla lilies - me hates calla lilies. We rode an old fashioned red double decker bus to our reception (held at the soon to be closed historic Hotel Pattee), where Rykert claims he did not get to eat nearly enough. Our guests ate, drank, and danced. We ended the night standing around the cake eating directly from the leftover cake - each layer was its own flavor and I ate some of each.

Traditionally, the second wedding anniversary is celebrated with gifts of cotton. In preparation for this day, I started knitting a cotton blend sweater for Rykert last June. It is still not complete (unless you like the midriff, muscle sweater look). I feel like a schmuck. Luckily, Rykert understands the time it will take and is a good sport - particularly since he generally doesn't really wear sweaters.

Beignets

We'll celebrate tonight with a quick dinner out before Rykert heads to the hospital. I may just pull the tiara off of my veil and wear it around in celebration.

I cannot think of anything more frivolous than wearing a tiara only once, and I think every woman should own a tiara.
Rykert is just lucky that anniversary number two is not diamonds or Coach bags or snooty shoes.
Congrats, and adorable year 2 pic.

Happy Anniversary!! I work for the Chamber of Commerce in LaSalle IL. We are blessed to have the old manager of the Hotel Pattee now on staff to help us restore the Kaskaskia Hotel. Hotel Pattee is a beautiful historic hotel. So that your local loss is our gain. It is nice to see your beautiful pictures also.

Oh, Hotel Pattee...so sad. Hubbs proposed to me there and we spent the most beautiful weekend there...ah..memories, you can't take that away from me.
