It's all football - all day around here. When you live in a college town, you can't escape the football this time of year. We spent the morning biking up to the stadium for some tailgating and people watching. We didn't go to the game against our inner-state rivals for lack of tickets. The University has made changes in their ticket policies that make it difficult to get reasonable tickets - some guy was still selling tickets for $100 a piece after kick-off. Instead we biked home and watched on tv. Go Hawks! Rykert is now screaming at the tv as he watches his alma mater, Auburn, play his parent's LSU. I'm trying to finish up some projects and get ready for my trip this week.

So... anyway, about the knitting.
First we have another felted bag.
paintbox bag prefelted
The bag unfelted. Male nurse action figure for scale.
paintbox bag felted
And felted.
The yarn is one strand of Classic Elite Paintbox in color 6854, and two strands of Cascade 220 for the i-cord bind off. The yarn was gifted for my birthday from my parents, and the pattern was a give away at the yarn store where they purchased the yarn in Des Moines. I'm still trying to decide what type of handles to put on this (plastic, leather, i-cord?), and I'm also going to knit a couple of flowers and felt for embellishment. I think that I will give this to my grandma for Christmas. Which means I will also need to line it. The finishing will have to be put on hold for now.

I have more work in progress, but that will have to wait until next time....

So what do you think about those handles?

GO HAWKS! Hubby and I were at the game yesterday. We had to leave Des Moines at 4:15 am to beat traffic. It was a very long day considering that hubby's band played in Downtown I.C. last night at the Yacht Club. Today's dreary weather provided for a perfect Sunday nap though.

Geez, I don't have any ideas for handles??? That is tough. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Maybe some plastic or bamboo handles. I think the flowers will be a good addition too.

Have you ever been to Hill Country Weavers in Austin? It's a great yarn shop. If you have time, you should check it out.

I would say beaded handles. You can pick the large beads to match the yarn perfectly. Let me know if you have any questions.
