Worst. Blogger. Ever.

I've been MIA from the blog world for quite awhile. This is mostly due to the fact that I seemed to have lost my knitting mojo. Have you seen it? More on that later. This past weekend we spent at my parents. Rykert's on spring break this week, and I have the week off from my temp gig. I wanted to drive to Chicago later this week and go to IKEA. Well, Rykert decided that it might be more interesting to drive from my parents to Minneapolis since he'd never been that far north. We took off Monday morning without looking at a weather report, and quickly found ourselves in the midst of quite a snowstorm. Our drive turned out to be longer and more harrowing than we had anticipated. But we made it. We did plenty of looking around, but very little actual purchasing. The trip was a complete whim so we weren't really prepared to make any major purchases at IKEA. Once we find an apartment or house that is a little more permanent we will definitely be going back. If for nothing else but a shelving unit to house my yarn.

But about that knitting mojo...
I've been working on Something Red Black for about 3 weeks. I have the body complete and one sleeve. All that is left is the second sleeve and the ribbing for the collar and button band. Not much, right? For some reason I haven't been able to make myself pick it up despite having plenty of time to knit.

The progress thus far.

Why can't I motivate myself to finish? It is going to fit. I like the style and think that I'll wear it this spring - if I can finish it. But despite this, I still can't motivate myself to finish.

Last night I started something new before heading out to knitting group.

ribbon blanket
This is going to be a baby blanket for my cousin who is expecting this summer. I've given myself plenty of time to get this finished - if I can keep focused on it and not abandon it for something new. I also plan on making a little sweater or hat or both to go with it.
The pattern is by Fibertrends and is called Ribbons Baby Blanket (#44x). The yarn is Lion Brand Cotton Ease in bubblegum and orangeade. If this one gets finished, I'll probably start another to further my mission of clearing out all of the yarn that I currently own.

So that's all I got.

Good luck clearing out that yarn; I always seem to buy yarn and then never start a new project. And I really think that I'm giving you a run for that title. I really will post something soon, though. Really.... The blanket looks great; I love those colors together. And I'm glad you made it through the snow!

What gorgeous colors! And I like the pattern, too.

I've got a sweater like that, it's about halfway done and I want to finish it but for some reason I just don't pick it up and do it.

Ah well, the mojo will come back, it always does. In the fall. Sigh.

I feel your pain. I'm having a hard time focusing and finishing as well -- and these are projects that I like and want to complete!

My knitting/blogging mojo must be hiding out with yours somewhere. I like to think it is on an island drinking a pina colada rather than sitting curled up in a ball in a corner but I am not so sure sometimes.

It's okay to take a break. We all need one sometimes. Glad you made it through the storm safe and sound.
