I'm a bore.

koigu scarf 1

This is what I've been working on. It's a scarf, and it's Koigu. Oh, and the pattern is from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. And that is all I'm going to say. More some other time, but it's fun to knit, and much of it has been accomplished during breaks and such at my current temp gig. I want to Kool Aid dye some yarn to make a version of this for myself.

I've been missing from the blog world for a week or so. Unfortunately, I don't have much to report on the knitting front, and my Christmas to do list continues to be unmanageable. I've spent a fair amount of time worrying about finishing all the gifts that I want to give, but little time actually working on them. Of course, had I spent the time that I was worrying actually knitting, there would be more to report. But I have a plan...

In the meantime, I've been thinking about Christmas baking. On my list so far...
Oreo Balls (I bet you didn't even know they had balls)
Glazed Butter Cookies (registration required to access recipe)
Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies
Peanut Butter Blossoms
Biscotti (recipe to be determined)
English Toffee (this is an old family, no-fail recipe that I make every year)
Chocolate Crinkles
Chocolate Suprise Cookies (a la MS Holiday Cookies)

There may be some that I am missing...(snickerdoodles, spritz, gingerbread, etc), but I'll leave those to my sisters to make. I was inspired by the Martha Stewart Holiday Cookies magazine. There are so many cute ideas for packaging baked goods as gifts. I'm always a sucker for pretty packaging. But, it is yet to be seen whether I actually get to all or any of these planned goodies. If I do, I'll need to be making more friends to give them to or start handing them out to strangers. Do you have a favorite Christmas cookie recipe?

I'm also working on putting my favorite recipes into an online cookbook on Recipezaar for my own convenience. So far, there's not much there...
