Falling....

I never really appreciated fall until I didn't have it. I went to college down south. Sometimes it was hard to get the feel for what time of year it was. I mean, the extra months of warmth were nice, but I just wished that it would cool off at night and the trees would change color. We picked our current apartment for one reason - location. While it is certainly not the nicest building in town, it does have a large city park, recreation center, acquatics center, and library right across the street. It makes for a very nice publicly subsidized front yard that looks pretty nice covered in fall colors.

So, if you are sitting on the couch in our living room right now, this is what you see...

Gold trees, Canadian Geese, and Mallard Ducks. Not a bad front yard. The ground is covered in leaves, and it has finally cooled down to a seasonable temperature. Although I'm not complaining about the past week of unseasonably warm weather...

In knitting news, I finished Fluted Bannister Sock #1
fluted banister sock 1 leaves fluted banister sock 1 finished

It fits, and it is so soft and cozy that I quickly cast on for the mate yesterday. Unfortunately, it's much slower than the first. But hopefully they'll be finished by the end of the week. But who knows because I have a couple of other projects to work on at the same time....
