Slow progress.

I have been knitting, I swear. Unfortunately, nothing that I am working on is very photogenic at the moment.

In knitting news, I started the Yesterknits pattern. It's sort of slow going, but I have hope. The construction of this sweater is really interesting, because it is basically just a T-shape with seams up 2 sides to make armholes. There is a thread going on Craftster.

I'm also working on a larger and updated version of the cabled clutch I made this past winter. I wanted something larger with different cable pattern, and with a handle rather than a clutch. It's bulky so it may be finished later tonight.

I also stumbled across a new online knitting magazine, Southern Cross Knitting, out of Australia. Some of the patterns look fabulous, and I am especially loving the Charm Mitts.

Oh, and I saw March of the Penguins this weekend. It was really a great movie. I mean, Morgan Freeman's voice is fabulous and it is a well written story. A must see. I also saw Wedding Crashers. Wedding Crashers is not a work of cinematic genius, but it was very funny and entertaining. Don't go if you are expecting something deep and meaningful. I guess I also saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was um, weird, but good. I missed the songs from the original (remember "Cheer Up Charlie," the most depressing song ever in children's cinema), but Johnny Depp did a great job of making me forget Gene Wilder and being creepy. I would say that there were kids at the showing I went to who were probably a little young for this version, and the movie lost them.

Hopefully, pictures soon.
