Thursday is for Sewing.

Number of sewing machine needles broken = at least 3.

I spent today finishing some sewing projects. Here's a sampling of what I have accomplished, so far.

A white bag for my sister's sister-in-law for her wedding. Two tote bags in fabulous colors, and a small tote bag for me using a champagne/ pink flowered brocade. If you look close, you can see some pins remaining, and they each need to be ironed and a top stitch around the lining. But otherwise, they are done. I also managed to do some organizing of my crafty messes and cut fabric for a number of other projects. Maybe tonight I'll get it all ironed and ready to go. I said maybe, so probably not.

I also started a new knitting project. It's the Tivoli Tank by Grumperina. I'm using Cotton Ease in Ice Blue. So far, so good. But I'm reserving judgement, because I'm not really sure that my gauge is going to work out or that I'm knitting the right size. I keep doing the math based on number of stitches, my gauge, my measurements, but I'm still not confident. All the versions I've seen on other blogs have been really cute, so I'm hoping that it will be something I will actually wear.

In other knitting news, I saw this bolero (originally from Urban Outfitters) at Fig and Plum.

A fabulous sleuth found a very similar vintage pattern at Yesterknits.

I requested the pattern, which was free, and am now considering it. For now, I'm still thinking about it.
