Busy days.

This past week has been a blur. I worked all week. Saturday, my parents and younger sister came to town to join me and my older sister at a silent auction/ style show/ mother's day tea benefitting the Iowa Children's Museum. The event was a good time for a good cause, and my chair ended up bringing in a respectable $90. I, of course, could not go away empty handed, and ended up bidding on a very cute Herve Chapelier pink backpack.

Today was spent with the rest of my family, and it was a really nice visit.

On the knitting front, I received my order from KnitPicks and I am impressed. I'm using the Elegance in Wild Rose for the lace trim bolero. It is knitting up extremely nicely, and the yarn is great quality and very soft. A bargain indeed. Pictures of the knitting tomorrow (but I'm trucking on this project.) I also bought some of their Sock Garden in Stargazer Lily. I haven't had a chance to knit with it, but it looks to be a fine value. More on that in the future.

I have also managed to finish two more preemie hats for the Preemie Project. And I've sewn a few more bags for various gifts, including Mother's Day. So, I have been a very busy girl.

For the politically minded among y'all, Dennis Kucinich wrote a very interesting open letter to Howard Dean about the Democratic party's position on the war in Iraq. It can be read here (via The Nation). Something to ponder, even if you don't support what he is saying.
