A Long Overdue Update

Well, I have been busy. I swear that I have been. I've been doing a lot of sewing, painting, beading, and even a little knitting.

The little raglan sweaters have been put on break, and will now become Christmas gifts for my nieces. I started them nice and big for this reason.

In the meantime, I started some baby hats for Laura's fabulous Preemie Project. I knit these, with third on the needles, using leftover Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. The result is so soft. I thought the little one was way to little, but my sister, a NICU nurse, assured me that they will have a baby that will fit into it. I'm considering picking up a ball of Baby Cashmerino in blue and yellow to make some little boy versions. It's just so soft. For those of you interested the pattern I used can be found here, and it is the quickest and cutest little free preemie I've found yet.

In other knitting news I made a couple of yarn purchases this week. I decided to make the lace trim bolero from the most recent Vogue Knitting. I'm going to use Knit Picks Elegance in wild rose. I also added some of their Sock Garden in either hydrangea or stargazer. I've heard good reviews about their own line of yarns, and am eagerly awaiting seeing it myself. Any of you have any experience with it? The prices are certainly right.
